Jose Arriaga Sr.

Jose Arriaga, Sr., 83, of Port Lavaca, passed away Monday, August 20, 2012. He was born August 24, 1928 in San Juan, Texas to the late Sebastian and Petra Alfaro Arriaga. He was retired from Alcoa and was a member of the Alcoa 25 year club and past member of the Knights of Columbus.

Jose is survived by his daughters; Irene A. Padron and husband Mike, Criselda Gonzales, Diana Benevides, Maria Rubio and husband Pete, Jr., Gloria Hess and husband Mike and Elma Leal and husband Abram III, sons; Carlos Arriaga, Jessie Arriaga, Richard Arriaga and wife Cynthia and Rene Arriaga, Sr., Jose also leaves behind 9 sisters; 7 brothers; 35 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild to cherish his memory.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Maria Arriaga whom passed away this May; son, Jose Arriaga, Jr; one sister and one brother.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 22, 2012 from 5-7 p.m. with Rosary beginning at 7 p.m. at Richardson Colonial Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 23, 2012 at Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Carlos Arriaga, Richard Arriaga Sr., Rene Arriaga, Richard Arriaga Jr., Frank Servantes Jr. and Joseph Arriaga.
