Jackson Baltzell Glover Sr., 99, of Port Lavaca passed away December 15, 2022. He was born February 4, 1923 in Bainbridge, GA to John Leonard Glover and Myrtle Calhoun Glover Wiley. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. Jackson worked for Alcoa for approximately 34 years. He was a member of the Alcoa 25 year club and VFW Post 4403. He loved his dogs, fishing, gardening, and telling jokes.
He is survived by his daughter, Angela Glover Smith (Greg); sons, Jackson B. Glover Jr. and Carrol Glover; sister, Carolyn Glover Allen; grandchildren, Angie Boles (Glenn), Julie Sion, Jackson B. Glover III (Bonnie), and Jacqui Glover Canles (Pop); great-grandchildren, Natasha, Nicole, Nicholas, Jessica, Katherine, Heather, John C., John L., Chloe, Michael, and William; and numerous great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Louise Lowe Glover; parents; son, Roger Glover; sister, Miriam Glover Murray; and brother, Howell Glover.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 20, 2022 from 4-6 p.m. at Richardson-Colonial Funeral Home. Graveside services will be Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at 2 p.m. at Six Mile Cemetery.
