George Aleman, 71, of Port Lavaca passed away on April 13, 2024. He was born March 14, 1953 in Goliad to Refugio and Josephina Muniz Aleman. George worked in law enforcement with various agencies for 41 years, retiring in 2016 as Sheriff for Calhoun County. He was a member of the Calhoun County Law Enforcement Association, a catholic, and loved spending time fishing.
He is survived by his loving wife, Rose Mary Aleman; daughter, Christina Le (Vinh); son, Chris Aleman; step-son, Jason Rogers (Emma); sister, Ruth Bustos; and grandchildren, Trystin Aleman, Dylan Aleman, Mark Flores Jr., Ryan Flores, Ashlin Le, Rylin Le, and Samuel Rogers.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Manuela Hernandez, and Cindy Lopez; and brothers, Tommy Aleman and Refugio “Cook” Aleman.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 23, 2024, from 5-8 p.m. at Richardson-Colonial Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at 11 a.m. at the Bauer Community Center. Burial will follow in Port Lavaca Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Rusty Henderson, Robert Hinojosa, Johnny Mesa, David Pena, Lyn Robles, Bryon Prall, and Delaney Hamilton. Honorary pallbearers will be Dennis Torres, Mark Flores Jr., Ryan Flores and Danny Rosenbrock.
