From a young age, Maria exhibited a passion for family, a trait that would define her entire life. She grew up to become a dedicated spouse to Gaspare sharing a bond of love and companionship that lasted a lifetime.
Family was paramount to Maria, and she found immense joy in spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was a pillar of support, offering guidance, love, and unwavering encouragement to each generation.
An avid cook, Maria delighted in preparing meals for her loved ones. Her kitchen was always filled with the aroma of delicious dishes, and she took great pleasure in bringing people together around the dining table.
In addition to her culinary talents, Maria was a skilled seamstress, finding solace and creativity in the art of sewing. She poured her heart into every stitch, creating beautiful garments and cherished keepsakes.
Maria will be fondly remembered for her warmth, kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family. Her legacy of love and generosity will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to have known her.
Beloved wife of the late Gaspare. Loving mother of RoseMarie Novielli and her husband Domenico and Pam D'Apuzzo and her husband Joe. Cherished Nonna of Deanna LaMela and her husband Nicholas, Angelica Freedman and her husband Mitchell and Thomas Novielli and his wife Hanika. Adored bisnonna of Grayson Freedman and Gio LaMela. Dear sister of Anna Copella, Giovanna Mannino and her husband Antonino, Graziella Benenati and her husband Ignazio and the late Illuminata Lombardo. Maria is also survived many more loving family and friends.
A Celebration of Life to honor and remember Maria will be held on Friday, February 23, 2023 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at O.B. Davis Funeral Homes, 4839 Nesconset Highway, Port Jefferson Station, NY 11776. Funeral Mass on Saturday at 10 AM at St. Gerard Majella R.C. Church, 300 Terryville Road, Port Jefferson Station, NY 11776. Committal service and entombment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery 3442 Route 112, Coram, NY 11727.
