Donald G. Lewis

Donald G. Lewis, 82, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 28, 2018. He was predeceased by his parents Leland and Ethel Lewis, son Jimmy Lewis, brother Richard Lewis, sisters-in-law Thelma Lewis and Pat Congdon, brother-in-law Rick DeMark, niece Donna Lewis and nephew Ronald Lewis.

He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years Carolyn Lewis; son and daughter-in-law Philip & Lori Lewis; daughter and son-in-law Melinda & Steve Andrus; seven grandchildren Krystyna, James, Sarah, Nicole, Emily, Hannah and Kyle; three great grandchildren; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Bob & Rose Congdon, Art Congdon, Lorraine DeMark and Evelyn Putney and several nieces nephews and cousins.

Donald was a graduate of Union Endicott High School and Ithaca College. He was a United States Army Veteran and a retired employee of Broome Developmental Center. He was an umpire for Little League and Softball for many years. He enjoyed attending local high school sporting events especially while his grandchildren were playing.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, January 2, 2018, 1pm at the Wm. R. Chase & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango Street, Port Dickinson. Burial will be in the Chenango Valley Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 11am until the time of service. In lieu of flowers kindly consider memorial contributions to a local Veterans Association.
