He was predeceased by his parents, Ralph and Frances Osborne, brothers, Walter Brooks, Marvin Brooks, David Osborne and his daughter, Dawn Osborne Pike.
Daryl is survived by his loving wife of 17 years, Donna. He was proud of his children, daughter, Melissa (Kyle McGonigal), his son, Adam (Andrea) Osborne, and his grandchildren, Connor, Chloe and Kira Osborne and Ethan Pike, his sister and brother-in-law, Dawn and George Safranek; several nieces and nephews that he loved very much.
Daryl proudly served for four years in the United States Navy on the DD Robert L. Wilson. He and his brother, David requested that they serve their hitch on the same ship. They were in the Caribbean on their ship that helped to enforce the Cuban Blockade.
He loved playing pool and was an excellent player. Daryl was New York State 8 & 9 Ball Champ multiple times. Over the years he won many titles and trophies and passed his love of the game to his son, Adam.
He retired from Broome County Transit where he drove bus. Daryl was just one of the four Osborne’s that was a driver that also included his father, brother and an uncle.
Daryl had a love for all animals especially his fur babies. Many were strays that he and Donna took in and gave homes.
He loved his family, playing cards (Poker) and playing pool. His faith was strong and he had a heart of gold.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, October 8, 2021 at 12 noon at the Wm. R. Chase & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango Street, Port Dickinson. Burial will take place at Vestal Hills Memorial Park, Vestal. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 10:00 am until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in Daryl Osborne’s memory to Every Dog’s Dream, 1111 North Cafferty Hill Road, Endicott, New York 13760.
