Bernard J. Schad

Bernard (Benny) J. Schad (60) went to be with the Lord on April 30th, 2015. He was predeceased by his parents, Edward Schad Sr. and Iola Dawn, and brothers Francis, John and James (Craig) Schad. He is survived by his son and daughter in law, Joseph and Danielle Kilmer, and his grandchildren, Emily, Joseph, Robert and Ethan Kilmer. He is also survived by his siblings, Edward Jr. and Tina Mason-Schad, Mary and Bruce Jaworski, as well as his stepfather Richard Dawn, sister in laws Eva and Suzanne, and several nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends. Benny was an advocate of legalized cannabis and enjoyed playing cards, listening to music and fishing. He will most be remembered for the love he had for his family, his exuberant personality, and infectious laugh. The family will receive friends at the Wm. R. Chase & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango St, Port Dickenson NY, on Wednesday, May 6th from 5-7pm and a funeral service will take place on Thursday, May 7th at 11 am. Burial will follow the funeral in the family plot in Riverside Cemetery, Endicott, NY. Donations in Benny's memory can be made to The Muscular Dystrophy Association.
