Mr. Allan Livingstone Dickie

He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years Beverly, his son Glen, daughter, Diane (Dee Dee), son-in-law Michael Allan granddaughter, Taylor-Brooks Allen and Nephew, Jerry. Predeceased by his parents, Robert and Gwendolyn and sister, Elvira.

Allan was born and raised in Vancouver and he and Beverly attended Lord Bing High-school in the Point Gray area.

Allan met up with Beverly again at an HMC Discovery Dance where he attended as a Navy Cadet, courted for a time and then married. They recently celebrated their 68th year of marriage.

Alan had a varied career where he worked for Woodward’s downtown and the opening of the New Westminster location for approximately 10 years and then worked as the Western regional Manager for a hardware company venturing into a successful career in real estate thereafter.

In ALLAN’s leisure time he became aquatinted with Birch Bay Leisure Park. He and Beverly purchased their little piece of the pie there and he went on to serving the Park for two selected terms as the President of the Park. He loved the Bay and cared a lot about the residents of the Park as well as the upkeep of the Park itself. He and Beverly would often venture out in their golf cart at around 7pm speaking to many along their way in what they referred to as their midnight journey.

Allan will be dearly missed by his family and friends who recall him as being a loving and caring individual with a great sense of humour.

We will live on through our memories of him and we will celebrate his life at the First Memorial Funeral Chapel at 1:00pm on Friday, November 26th.
