Patricia A. (Trapula) Simpson, 82, of Mt Horeb, Wisconsin and Port Charlotte, Florida passed away on December 23, 2019. She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Simpson and survived by her companion Edward Venini. She is also survived by her daughters Beth Simpson of Walpole, Massachusetts and Amy (Darin) Smith of Mt. Horeb, Wisconsin, her son Thomas (Miriam Willmann) Simpson of Madison, her sister Helen Torphy of North Port, Florida and her brother Stanley Trapula of Reno, Nevada. She grew up in Lynn, Massachusetts and was a graduate of Lynn Classical High School.
Pat spent many years in Mt Horeb helping to raise her two oldest granddaughters, Lauren and Caroline Smith whom she adored. She loved her bonus granddaughter Hannah Feingold and enjoyed the wonder and adventure when her grandson Henry Feingold joined the family 10 years later.
Pat had so much joy in spending time with her family and friends. You could see and feel the love that shone in her eyes whenever she smiled. She was so very loved and will be so incredibly missed.
Pat was a very giving person and supported many charitable organizations. Expressions of sympathy may be directed to the Ronald McDonald House of Madison, Wisconsin where she had been a volunteer and to the St. Jude's Children's Hospital, Memphis, Tennessee in her memory.
Pat had always wanted to be an organ donor or help others in some way, post life. We are thrilled that she is able to do just that and give the gift of breath and health through donation of medication and medical supplies to those in need.
"Though nothing can bring back the hour of splendor in the grass, of glory in the flowers; we will grieve not, rather find strength in what remains behind." William Wordsworth.
A celebration of life is planned for Saturday, January 25th from 12-3pm at the District #1 Old School House, 110 N 2nd Street in Mt. Horeb, Wisconsin. A celebration will also be held later this spring in Massachusetts.
