Eleanor Dirrane, age 90 of Port Charlotte, FL passed away March 20, 2019, the first day of spring. She was born December 8, 1928 to Edward and Stella Littlefield. Eleanor attended Bethlehem High School near Delmar NY and graduated from the University of Michigan. She was an Actress and Writer and worked in Public Relations. Eleanor was a wonderful mother who always put the love for her daughters first. She was a member of the Screen Actors Guild, Actor’s Equity, the NY Democratic Reform Club, Sierra Club and the Appalachian Mountain Club. Eleanor loved the opera, the church choir and acting. She enjoyed the outdoors and hiking. Eleanor will be remembered for being social, generous, loving and compassionate. She loved animals and she was always one to speak up for those in need. Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Marjorie (Calvin) Arnett. She is survived by her children, Stephanie (Edward) Martin and Jennifer Dirrane; grandson, Philip Morton; nieces and nephews, Steven (Delphine) Arnett, Michael (Barbara) Arnett, Claudia (Richard) Steinbrecher, Jeffrey (Lene) Arnett, and Peter (Melissa) Arnett. The family will be celebrating Elli’s life at the end of the summer at her nephew Jeff Arnett’s home in Worcester, Massachusetts followed by an interment of her ashes at Willow Cemetery in Lynnfield Massachusetts next to her family of many generations.
