Alice G. Zimmerman, treasured daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother was welcomed home by our Lord and Savior on October 7, 2024 with her own special, earthside angel by her side in Florida. Born on June 20, 1939, in Langhorne, Pennsylvania, Alice’s radiant personality and limitless capacity for kindness were apparent from a young age. She brought hope and faith to others throughout her 85 years of life.
After completing her high school education, she pursued a fulfilling career as a nurse, touching the lives of countless individuals with her warmth and kindness.
Alice and her husband, Robert Zimmerman, spent 63 years married, in which their devotion to each other did not waver. Together, they created a life grounded on strong values, morals, and family togetherness. She was a mother of two children, Catherine Murdock (Lonnie) and Robert Zimmerman (Christine) whom she was immensely proud of. Alice is survived by her younger brother, Robert Broadnix (Annemarie).
Her role as 'Grandma' was one of her greatest joys and one in which she would often dote over. She was blessed with 6 grandchildren, Megan Brainard, Kelly Zimmerman, Mark Murdock, Allison Zimmerman, Fallon Hembury, and Dalton Zimmerman. In addition, she had 5 precious “great grands” Alexander, Lincoln, Olivia, Lucas and Levi that she adored spending time with.
Alice was a faithful servant to the Lord. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, and her discipleship continued within Tri City Baptist Church. Alice considered this her second family. She faithfully served assisting with the prayer chain, and also teaching children of God’s promises, reading stories of the bible and helping with crafts at Sunday school which brought her happiness and fulfillment.
Some of Alice’s greatest pleasures in addition to serving the lord, spending time with her family and friends, playing games, telling stories, and arts and crafts. Her gift for art was shown in each beautiful, unique, creation laced with her warmth and love.
Alice was preceded in death by her loving parents, Herman and Dorothy. She also leaves behind an impact touching the lives of many including nieces, nephews, and friends who were all dear to her heart.
The story of Alice G. Zimmerman is one of a life beautifully lived. It is a tapestry woven with threads of love, service, faith, and the joy she found in simple moments. Alice's legacy will forever be cherished. Her light will continue to be celebrated by those who were fortunate enough to know her in the hearts and memories of her family and friends. Alice will be deeply missed but her life journey was a testament to the power of her salvation. Her family and her god were the most important things in life. Life was not perfect, but Alice knew her Jesus most certainly was, and her faith did not waver. If there was anything Alice would say, it was “I’ve been praying for you, sweetie,” and rest assured she certainly did.
