Gwendolyn Dore’, 71, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 12, 2024
Gwendolyn, affectionately known as “Gwennie Boo,” brought joy and laughter to all who knew her. Her warm spirit and unique personality created lasting memories for her loved ones. She was known for her love of having her feet tickled and her hair brushed, and her sweet, playful laughter when given kisses. Gwendolyn had a delightful way of showing her appreciation for good food with an enthusiastic “Mmmmm,” although peas were never her favorite. She had a charming stubbornness, making her opinions known with a turn of the head and a huff. A lover of life’s simple pleasures, Gwendolyn occasionally enjoyed a cold beer since turning 21 and had a special fondness for her babies, who loved entertaining her in return.
Gwendolyn is survived by her brother, Robert “Gee” Dore’; her nephew, Troy Dore’; her nieces, Kelly Dickson and husband Roger; Heather Broussard and husband Trey; her great-niece, Haylee Dore’; and her great-great-nephews, Andrew Dickson, Tate Dore’, Hudson Dore’, Haydan Jackson, and Gwendolyn Jackson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew “Andy” Dore’ and wife Gloria, and her sister, Andra Dore’ Johnson.
Gwendolyn’s life will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home, 4841 39th Street, Port Arthur, Texas 77642. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, followed by a celebration of life at 11:00 AM. Gwendolyn will be laid to rest at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
Though Gwendolyn has departed this earthly life, her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. May she rest in eternal peace.
