Dorothy M Gordy

Dorothy M. Gordy, 90 of Groves, formerly of Port Arthur, passed away on Thursday, August 08, 2013 in Port Arthur surrounded by her family. Dorothy was born, September 15, 1922 in Port Arthur to the late Jack S. Saulsbery and Helen Judice Saulsbery. Dorothy was a lifelong resident of the area and will be greatly missed by many in her community. She was a life member of St. John‘s Lutheran Church, she enjoyed sewing, cooking, yardwork, playing cards and shopping. She was a loving mother, devoted wife and proud grandmother.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ernest Paul Gordy, sister, Gertrude Morgan and step son, Donald Gordy.

Dorothy is survived by her son, Dennis Gordy and his wife Ruth of Port Acres; grandsons, Danny Gordy and his partner Lorrie of Port Acres; Blaine C. Gordy and his wife Jodi of Bridge City; great grandsons, Chase Gordy and Gavin Gordy.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Sunday, August 11, 2013, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 12, 2013 at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home with burial to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Groves.
