Alvin was born on July 26, 1932 to Dan and Aline Hebert in Port Arthur. He served in the US Navy during the Korean War. Alvin married Betty Lou Schneider on April 20, 1962 and they made their home in Bridge City. He was a member of St. Henry’s Catholic Church in Bridge City and he enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
His survivors include his wife, Betty Lou of Bridge City; 3 daughters, Renee’ Sprayberry and husband Ken of Vidor, Betty Hebert of Buna, Pam Hodge and husband Gary of Groves; 2 brothers, Donald Hebert and wife Lorretta of Port Arthur, Leonard Hebert and wife Kathy of Port Arthur; a sister, Sylvia Hebert of Port Arthur; 6 grandchildren, Lana Hodge, Mitchell Scully, Lindsey Prosperie, Aaron Sprayberry, Brooklyn Sprayberry, Trent Sprayberry and 3 great grandchildren.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home, Port Arthur.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Henry’s Catholic Church, Bridge City, with Father Steve Leger & Father Duc Q. Duong officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Groves.
Pallbearers will be Gary Hodge, Pat Hodge, Trent Sprayberry, Mitchell Scully, Murphy Labouve, Ken Sprayberry and Honorary Pallbearer will be Aaron Sprayberry.
