Paterson, Jan passed away in Port Alberni on Friday, March 20 at the age of 66 years.
Predeceased by her husband Ian, Janice leaves behind children Sean, Lindsay (Aaron) and Leah (Matt); grandchildren Ian, Kaden and Max; mother Doris; sisters Debbie (Jim), Paula (Craig), and Karen; and brother-in-law David (Sandy) and children.
Born on Vancouver Island, Jan grew up on the mainland. She met and married Ian and started a family soon afterwards. The growing family moved back to Vancouver Island in the early 80’s. In the mid 80’s they moved down to Victoria from Port Alberni and stayed on the Saanich Peninsula for the next 30 years. Janice eventually took a position with School District #63, working as an educational assistant at Sidney Elementary School. After retiring, Janice moved back to Port Alberni in 2019 to live and be close to family.
