Arlene was born and raised in Port Alberni, she met her husband Ken at 18 and that was the beginning of their romance of over 50 years. They built their life in Port Alberni and raised their son Clayton surrounded by wonderful family, friends and neighbours.Arlene devoted her life to caring for others; human, feline, canine or arachnoid, all were special to her. Any who knew Arlene knew that she was an artist to the core. If she wasn’t creating bridesmaid dresses, porcelain dolls or decorative light shades, she was creating many of the amazing tapestries hung in the Grace Lutheran Church. If you were blessed to have known Arlene you already know anyone and anything she touched was made more beautiful just by being near her.
Arlene was predeceased by her father Arther Rowe, Brother Daniel Rowe and Sister Sandra Carriere.
Arlene is survived by her loving husband Ken Hoffman, Son Clayton Hoffman, devoted mother Mary Rowe, Brother-in-law Roland Carriere, Nephew Nicolas Carriere, Niece Barbara Lemire and her children Joshua & Matthew. Arlene is also sorely missed by her little dog Lady and Kitty Hobo.
Our heartfelt thanks and gratitude go out to the amazing people at West Coast General Hospital for their exceptional care of Arlene in her final days.
In lieu of Flowers please make a donation to your local SPCA or Humane Society.
