Predeceased by her parents and her sister Amy.
Survived by husband Gordon; children Michael (Brandy), Kyle and Courtney; grandson Jacob (Tammy); great granddaughter Nova.
Born in the valley, Gordon and Anne met when they were 15 years old. Anne was a dedicated mother and as a great organizer, she involved herself in the PAC at both Gill School and A. W. Neill School. Anne was so proud of how successful the PAC was during the times she ran them. She also became involved as a chaperon during many school trips. She enjoyed looking after her children's friends over countless evenings and weekends. Her involvement changed as her children got older and progressed to occasional help and attending parent committees at Alberni District Secondary School. A tenacious voice of logic and reason, even though she battled many health issues, she always made sure everyone's voice was heard. In her later years, health problems took their toll on her.
A private family gathering will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Anne's memory may be made to the Mid Island Kidney Association, c/o Penny Gates, 8932 Faber Road, Port Alberni, BC., V9Y 9B9 or the West Coast General Hospital Foundation, 3949 Port Alberni Hwy, Port Alberni, BC., V9Y 4S1.
