Funeral services will he conducted at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 1, 2024 at First Baptist Church of Poplarville for Ronald Wade Windham, age 49 of Wilmington, North Carolina, who entered into the presence of the Lord, on Friday, May 17, 2024. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until service time at the church.
Wade was born on September 12, 1974, in Laurel, Mississippi, to Bill and Brenda Windham. He was employed by Creations Landscaping LLC in Wilmington, North Carolina. He was a member of Poplarville First Baptist Church. Wade was an accomplished percussionist with the Greene Machine, Poplarville High School Band and recipient of the John Phillips Sousa Award his senior year. He was a member of the snare drumline in the Pearl River Community College Band. He was both a percussionist and guitarist for the PRCC River Road Show Choir and Jazz Cats. Loving music and performing on the guitar was a major part of his life. Wade was lead guitarist in several local bands, including his pride and joy, The King Fridays.
Wade was formerly employed in Hattiesburg, Mississippi by Magnolia Federal, Mississippi Music, and C&M Music. He was a guitar instructor and a guitar technician at both Mississippi Music and C&M. Many times customers would ask specifically for Wade before they would purchase a guitar.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Katherine Newman Windham, three children, Sophia Katherine, Maxwell Wade, and Marley Elizabeth Windham of Wilmington, North Carolina; his mother, Brenda Loper Windham, Poplarville, Mississippi; two brothers, William Allan Windham and wife Rachel, children Spencer Allan, Hattiesburg, Mississippi, William Tyler, Andrew Tanner, and Ryley Adysyn Windham of Brandon, Mississippi; and Harley Jarrett Windham and wife Alicia, children Ovied Julian Karthie, Aubrey Lynn, and Claira Elizabeth Windham of Poplarville, Mississippi. He is also survived by two uncles, Ronald Windham (Roxanne) Metairie, Louisiana, and Lyle Windham (Kathy) Ellisville, Mississippi, and a host of extended family, friends, and neighbors.
He is preceded in death by his father, Bill Allan Windham of Poplarville and his grandparents, William Karthie and Pauline Butler Windham of Laurel, Mississippi and William Winfred and Maggie Ruth Smith Loper of Poplarville.
