Rev. James Victor “Jimmy” Rackley, 68, died Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at his residence. He was a
Retired Presbyterian minister, a member of the MS Presbytery, a Mason and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. He had coached little league baseball, umpired and called football games at Hamilton High School for more than twenty years. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, and deer hunting.
Services will be at 1 PM Saturday, April 16, 2011 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with Rev. David Smith and Rev. John Dudley officiating; burial will follow in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Browning Funeral Home in Pontotoc is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his wife: Alice Rackley, Pontotoc; his parents: Calvin and Kathlyn Rackley; two daughters: Cheryl Nunn, Memphis, TN and Le Ann Johnson (Steve) Mathiston, MS; three sons: Tim Nolen (Stacy) of Hamilton, MS, Toby Rackley, Hamilton, MS and Jason Hill of Pontotoc, MS; one sister: Joyce Odom (Reg) of Pontotoc,MS; a brother: Mark Rackley of McDonald, PA; nine grandchildren: Brittney Mitchell( Michael), E.J. Nolen, Jamye Kelsey, Michael Peterson, Shea Peterson, Logan Nunn, Daleh Rackley, Cody Johnson and Morgan Spivey.
He was preceded in death by his son: Tory Rackley
Pallbearers will be: E.J. Nolen, Tommy Ware, Ben Rackley, Michael Mitchell, David Rieland, Troy Tumberlinson, Charlie Stanford.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 PM Friday at the funeral home and from 12 to 1 PM Saturday at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
