Susan Lynn Mullin

After an extended battle with cancer, Susan Lynn Ward Mullin went to be with her Heavenly Father on June 10, 2021. She died at home with her loving family by her bedside. She was born on April 19, 1970 in Jacksonville, Florida, the daughter of the late Johnny Ward, Jr and Irmagene Clyatt Brown. Susan was a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She attended Union County schools and graduated in 1988.

Early in her career, she managed a family owned business, and worked for the clerk of court in Thomasville, GA. In her later career, until the time of her death, Susan worked as an administrative assistant for the City of Sunrise. Susan was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, and friend. Her greatest concern was always for her children, and she was a blessing in the lives of everyone who knew her.

As an animal lover, Susan rescued many pets over the years, including her beloved cat Lucky, who was found by the roadside. When new strays were brought home, Susan would sheepishly post on social media “… we just can’t keep him…” but anyone who knew her always knew the pets had found their home once they found Susan.

If you knew Susan, she was huge sports fan. Especially when it came to supporting Hannah and Mason’s various Little League and travel teams. Susan forged many lasting relationships with fellow sports parents and loved being part of the cheering sections for all their games. A devoted football fan, Susan spent most weekends wearing her Florida State colors, cheering her favorite team from the living room, and occasionally from the stadium. She often enjoyed trips to Miami to root on her Miami Marlins. Because of her extensive knowledge, she was a very tough competitor when it came to the family fantasy football league, proudly earning the Championship belt in 2016.

Along with her love of sports, Susan was an avid collector of porcelain dolls and an active member of the Police Wives of Coconut Creek organization. She could name almost any flower, and loved Kate Spade anything. Green was her favorite color and she dreamed of seeing Paris but was afraid to travel due to Covid 19. Music was an incredible escape for her and would always lighten her mood when she was troubled. Her soft smile and warm personality will be missed by all who knew her.

Susan is survived by her devoted husband, Brian, who fought their battle to the end, her daughter, Hannah Lynn Mullin (20), and her son, Mason R. Mullin (16), as well as her mother, Irmagene Clyatt Brown, brothers Johnny Ward, III, and David Ward, brother-in-law Richard K. Mullin, sister -in-law Kathleen M. Mullin, nieces and nephews, as well as her beloved yellow labs, Dozer and Lucy and cats, Tigger, Lucky, and Cali. Susan had a kind and loving spirit and a sweet smile for everyone she met, and will be greatly missed by all.

Visiting hours have been set for Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at Kraeer Funeral Home, 200 W. Copans Road, Pompano. The times are 2-4pm, and 6-8pm, and the family welcomes all who knew her who wish to pay their respects. Private cremation to follow. The family wishes to thank each and every person who has supported Susan, Brian, Hannah, and Mason throughout this most difficult time. Susan will never be forgotten, and neither will the many kindnesses shown as she and her family fought for her life.
