MAHONEY, PAUL M. 86 of Pompano Beach passed away January 19, 2012. He was born in Waltham, MA where he graduated from St. Charles H.S. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He was a Captain with the Waltham Fire Dept. until his retirement in 1980 and moved to Florida, living in Deerfield Beach, Sebring and Pompano Beach. Survived by his loving wife of 63 yrs, Barbara, son Stephen and his wife Janet of Cape Cod, MA, daughters Jayne Heckman of Oakland Park and Kara O’Neal and her husband Chuck of Boca Raton, 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren and his brother Robert Mahoney and his wife Joan of Cape Cod, MA. He was predeceased by his sisters Margaret, Helen & Veronica and brother James. A Memorial Mass will be said 11 am Monday, January 23, 2012 at St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Pompano Beach. Burial will be in South Florida National Cemetery, Lake Worth, Fl at a later date.
