Mary L. Peloquin MacLaren of Pompano Beach, FL.,born in Boston, Ma. passed away at the age of 82 on May 15, 2015. Mary (Polly to her family) was born on May 16, 1932 to Gertrude (Canning) Peloquin and Harold Peloquin. Beloved wife of the late Neil MacLaren who preceded her in death in 2012. Survived by her brother, Paul Peloquin of Ft. Lauderdale. Her cousin Judy Lovett and husband Michael and their daughters Pam Wade and her children Benjamin and Michael, Maureen Lovett, Julie Roche her Godchild, husband James and children Patrick, Christopher, and Godchild Julianna. Wonderful childhood friend Patricia Roy Egan and Godchild Julie Egan. She was a lifelong resident having moved to Ft. Lauderdale in 1957. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Education in 1968 and a Masters in Education in 1971 from Florida Atlantic University. She taught in the Broward County School system retiring after twenty five years in 1994. Mary delighted working side by side with Neil in the MacLaren Music Studio. The highlight was the annual recital as they were so proud of their piano and voice students. She was an active member of St. Henry Catholic Church, Pompano Beach, FL. She moved to John Knox Village in 2013 and was delighted to be reunited with her dear friend Margaret Barrosse who brought her communion daily throughout Mary's illness. Anyone who encountered Mary, was greeted by her extreme poise and impeccable grace. Mary served as the secretary for Rotary International. In addition, she volunteered at Covenant House. Mary requested no formal services, but monthly Mass remembrances for one year at St. Henry Church and St. Gabriel Church both in Pompano Beach, FL. Please no flowers. Donations may be made in her name to the Hospice by the Sea at John Knox Village.
