Jerome (Jerry) Mathew Hall, 71, Lauderdale by the Sea, Florida passed away at home after a long battle with cancer. He is survived by wife Kay Hall; son Benjamin, Chicago; son Jeffrey (Tiffany), daughter Kristi (Dr. Ivan) Puente, Ft. Lauderdale; grandsons Mason and Logan Puente and granddaughters Kyleen, Julia and Sophia Hall.
He is proceeded in death by his parents Marcellus and Icyleen Hall of St. Cloud, Minnesota and many uncles and aunts.
Jerry was born in St. Cloud, Minnesota on January 13, 1944. He attended St. John’s Prep and Cathedral High School, graduated from North Dakota State University then entered the US Air Force. Capt. Hall had 4 combat tours of duty in Viet Nam as a pilot. A renaissance man, he ran a kennel in upstate New York, worked for international firm Brown Boveri, owned and published Escape magazine in St. Cloud, MN as well as a book ‘Remember When”. He and Kay moved to Lauderdale by the Sea, FL in 1987. He started Filter Finders, Inc. in Ft. Lauderdale, then with his wife Kay sold art on cruise ships and invested in real estate. He was a big brother in Big Brothers Big Sisters, commander of Disabled American Veterans Chapter 133 and a mentor to many.
He will be remembered for his strength, insight, wit and proud devotion to his wife, children, grandsons Mason and Logan Puente and granddaughters Kyleen, Julia and Sophia Hall.
