Ft. Lauderdale - Daniel J. Mullen, 48, died July 24, 2017 suddenly at home in Ft. Lauderdale. He leaves his wife of fifteen years, Erin Griffin Mullen; his daughter, Emma Mullen; his father, George Mullen; brothers Matthew Mullen and Sean Mullen; and nieces, nephews and many friends.
Danny was born on July 31, 1968 in Queens, New York, son of George and Patricia Mullen, and spent his childhood in Long Island. After graduating from Saint Anthony’s, where he played football, Danny attended and graduated from the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York. After spending his early career as a chef at several world-renowned restaurants in Manhattan, Danny relocated to Pompano Beach, Florida, becoming the Sous Chef at Max’s Beach Place, where he met Erin. Erin and Danny married on April 7, 2002 at Lighthouse Point Yacht Club. They welcomed daughter Emma December 4, 2006. Meanwhile, Danny’s passion for food led him to become Executive Chef at Max’s and ultimately, to own and operate two successful restaurants in Las Vegas, Nevada and the recently opened Ocean One Grille in Delray, Florida. Danny was a life-long dedicated Yankees fan and Jets follower (if they were winning). When he was away from the restaurants, he loved traveling and spending time with Erin and Emma and his dogs, Dublin and Finnegan.
A visitation will be held at Kraeer Funeral Home on Friday, July 28 followed by a catholic service on July 29 at St. Coleman Catholic Church in Pompano Beach followed by a private internment.
