MARGARET HYNES MACDONALD
"In our Hearts Forever"
Born in Moncton, she was the daughter of the late James Hynes of Chatham, NB, and Bessie Ellen Breau of Dorchester, NB. She was predeceased by her husband, James Mac Donald of New Glasgow, NS in Sept. 1986; two brothers, William Hynes and Rev. Fr. Leo Hynes, and a sister, Helen Wadup, of Moncton, NB.
Margaret grew up in Moncton and was a basketball star in high school. She graduated as a Registered Nurse (Halifax Infirmary School of Nursing) where she was recruited for a position as an operating room nurse. Prior to her marriage to James Mac Donald in February of 1948 (Chemical Engineer and Flight Lieutenant with the RCAF), she was guest of honor at several social functions in Halifax. She moved to Roxboro, QC, devoting her life to her husband and her children . . . a sweet and dear Mother. She was a keen bridge player and loved entertaining. She was an active member of the CWL and was frequently called upon by neighbours and family whenever there was a medical emergency. Even in her last weeks, she loved music, singing, and playing the piano. All who knew her will remember her devotion to her family, her compassion for others, her gentle and positive disposition, her humour, her extreme generosity, and her fighting spirit. She was an amazing LADY with amazing grace who gave her heart to anyone who needed her.
Margaret is survived by five children, Sharon Hudson (wife of Douglas), Robert Mac Donald (wife Terry Yuskoski), Marian Caloz (wife of John), Joan Mac Donald, and Susan Mac Donald. She is fondly remembered by her 9 grandchildren, Kevin Hudson (wife Alex), Kim MacIntosh (husband Cameron), Jennifer Boyd (husband Mark), Michael Caloz, Brian Caloz, Patrick Caloz, Holly Protheroe, Jamie Protheroe, and Ryan Protheroe. She has 4 great grandchildren, Jesse, Arianna, Sierra, and Kiara. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, and 2 special friends and caregivers, Louise Arnott and Ann Marie Ramsaran.
The tears in my eyes I can wipe away, the ache in my heart will always stay.
Always missed, remembered and loved
