Bruce J. Emblem, affectionately known as Pops, passed away on February 7th, 2024, in Cornwall, Ontario, at the age of 82. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and so many cherished memories with both family and friends.
A Life Well Lived
Born to Clifford and Myrle Emblem, younger brother of Marlene Lafave, from Town of Mount Royal, Quebec, Bruce grew up in the transportation business. His family owned their own company, Norman’s Transfer, based out of Cornwall. Bruce’s career in sales spanned various trucking companies, where he held leadership roles and played pivotal parts in launching new transportation ventures from the ground up. His motivation stemmed from connecting with people on a personal level, one interaction at a time. Once retired, he enjoyed spending time in Florida, sitting on his back porch under the sun, and socializing with the neighborhood.
Family and Friends
Bruce was a kind and humorous person who could easily connect with anyone he met. He had a way with words and a knack for making people smile. He leaves behind his devoted wife Laurie, his two sons Craig & Jamie, his four precious grandchildren Jack, Charlotte, Robin, and Abilyn, and his faithful dog Smitty.
A Lasting Impact
Bruce loved both his close family and extended family in both Canada and the USA. When younger he always vacationed in Maine where luck would have it that he met his loving wife of 53 years.
Final Farewell
Bruce will be resting for condolences on Wednesday February 21st from 10am-12pm at St. Joachim of Pointe-Claire Church, with funeral mass to be held from 12pm-1pm. Flowers can be sent directly St. Joachim of Pointe-Claire Church the morning of.
