Barbara Baker Briggs

Barbara passed away peacefully early Thursday morning, June 16 in her 90th year. She leaves her sister Shirley (Walt) Swiston, her children Gini and Ted (Susan Mathew), and her cherished grandchildren, William (Carolyn), Michael (Sarah) and Graham Jewson; Andrew and Mackenzie Steel; and Tyler Briggs, as well as many nieces and nephews. Growing up in Westmount, Barbara and her twin brother were the youngest children of the late Ernest Malcolm Baker and the late Edith Ferne (Crysler) Baker. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 64 years Edwin Mansfield Briggs (Jr.), her sister Mary Baker and her twin Robert (Joanne) Baker. She was also predeceased by her daughter, Patricia (Richard Jewson) and granddaughter, Alexandra Briggs. Barbara was a family oriented home maker who ensured her family had all the love and attention they needed. She also enjoyed spending time with family and friends at their home away from home in Ayer's Cliff. A visitation and ceremony will be held at Collins Clarke MacGillivray White Funeral Home on Thursday, June 23, 2016 starting at 12:00 and the service beginning at 1:00 p.m. The immediate family will have a quiet moment after the service at Mount Royal Cemetery for interment.
