Julio Santana

SANTANA, Julio, age 78, of Plant City, FL passed away on January 28, 2018. Julio was born in Vega Alta, Puerto Rico on June 24, 1939 to Jorge and Castora Santana. He moved to Connecticut at the age of 17 where he met and married his wife, Noelia. He retired from the City of Bridgeport in CT and they moved with their children to Florida in 1994. Julio attended Iglesia de Cristo Nuevo Renacer in Lakeland, FL. Julio loved working on his land, gardening and farming. He also enjoyed playing baseball. Most importantly, he was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend and he especially cherished time spent with his family.

Julio was preceded in death by his parents; son, Julio Santana Jr.; three brothers; a sister in law; and a brother in law. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years (together 47), Noelia Santana; son, Alberto Santana (Jennifer); daughters, Noelia Suarez (Israel), Aracelis Santana, Tanya Santana; a special friend, Ruth Pomales; many grandchildren, brothers, sisters, cousins and extended family.

A Celebration of Life will be on Tuesday, February 6, 2018, 7pm at Wells Memorial Funeral Home in Plant City. The family will receive friends beginning at 6pm.
