It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Roy Dean Sneddon, of Plano, Texas, on Tuesday, November 5th 2024 in Plano, Texas, at the age of 59. He will always be remembered as a loving son, brother, friend, and colleague, to all that knew and loved him. He was born on April 3rd 1965 in Denver, Colorado to Donald and Carol Sneddon and spent his early years growing up in Lewisville, Texas, where he also attended school. As an adult, he moved to Dallas where he resided for many years, and later moved to Plano, Texas, where he spent the last 20 years of his life.
He was highly skilled and passionate about designing and building all manner of things and pursued a professional life that followed his passion for engineering. He worked in the electronics manufacturing industry most of his life, and for many years, he worked for SVTronics, Inc., an advanced manufacturing firm, in Plano, Texas, building advanced electronics and prototype systems. He was an avid fisherman, loved spending time with family and friends, loved animals, and enjoyed playing the lottery, once winning an all expense paid trip to Maui, Hawaii.
Roy loved his family and would make a point to tell them that he loved and appreciated them as often as possible. He is survived by his brothers, Rick Sneddon, of Plano, Texas, Roger Sneddon of Gilbertsville, Pennsylvania, and Jason Sneddon of Royse City Texas; sister, Dawn Casiano of Slidell, Louisiana; sisters-in-law, Bonnie Sneddon, of Plano, Texas, Trish Sneddon of Gilbertsville, Pennsylvania, and Samantha Sneddon of Royse City Texas; nieces, Angela Hollowell and Trinity Casiano; and nephews, Ozzie Sneddon, Jonathan Sneddon, Kristopher Sneddon, Marcus Casiano, Michael Nakawah, and Chad Nakawah. He was preceded in death by his father Donald Sneddon, mother Carol Pope, and sister Sherrie Eubanks.
Roy was a beacon of kindness, love, and true friendship, and will forever reside in our hearts. As we come to terms with the loss of Roy’s physical presence in our lives, we find solace in knowing that his spirit lives on in our hearts and minds. In typical Roy fashion, there are no services planned, certainly no pomp and circumstance. A celebration of life will occur with details to be determined.
Thank you to everyone, for your kind thoughts and prayers for Roy and
his family!
