Roberta Evelyn Prince

On May 6, 2013 Roberta Marion Prince went home to be with her Lord and Savior. In 1987 she was preceded in death by Doyle Prince the love of her life and husband of more than fifty years. She was also preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, two sisters, and one grandson.

Born on October 31, 1919 to Thomas David and Sarah Marion, Roberta was a long-time member of First Baptist Church of Plano. The most important things in her life were her Christian faith, her family, children, and animals, especially dogs. She also enjoyed fishing and watching a good football, basketball, or baseball game.

Roberta is survived by daughter Margie Burch of Plano; son David Prince and wife Sandy of Lavon; and son Lester Prince and wife Betty of Allen. Survivors also include grandchildren Danny Burch and wife Shannon of Plano; Brian Burch of Corpus Christi; Matthew Prince of Lavon; Glenn Prince and wife Karen of Murphy; and Jill Heffernan and husband Kevin of Allen. Great-grandchildren Carson Burch, Regan Burch, Gavin Prince, Kate Heffernan, and Emily Heffernan will also greatly miss their great-grandmother.

A special word of thanks is extended to the staff members of Heritage Manor Healthcare Center who were very attentive to Roberta’s needs for the past four years and to Angel Hands Hospice. Family visitation will be Thursday May 9, 2013 from 6-8 PM at Ted Dickey Funeral Home located at 2128 18th Street in Plano. The funeral service will be Friday May 10, 2013 at 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of Plano with the burial at Plano Mutual Cemetery. In lieu of flowers friends of Roberta may consider memorial contributions to the Children’s Ministry, First Baptist Church of Plano or to the Humane Animal Hospital, 1512 N.
