Peggy was born on September 2, 1930 in Allen, Texas.
Peggy was an artist. She worked for Neiman Marcus as a designer and also traveled the world for Neiman Marcus for fashion and design shows. While at Neiman Marcus, she won several awards design, and also had her artwork displayed at the Dallas Museum of Art.
Later she had her own design firm, Peggy Mitchell Designs. She also owned and operated a Bed & Breakfast in Glen Rose, Texas, which was an historic structure, the Snyder Sanitorium, that she re-designed and remodeled into the Inn on the River. She was also involved in restoring her childhood home and turning it into The Mitchell House, an historic home in Plano, Texas.
She graduated from Plano High School in 1948. She always loved art; painting, drawing, designing and photography. All those things lead to travel around the world, fulfilling her desire to explore and learn other's cultures. She was an animal lover, mainly cats. Several of her paintings were of her cats. She also loved history. She and her sister, Dorothy, were involved in the family genealogy, City of Plano history, and were both Historians for the First Christian Church in Plano, Texas, where all the Mitchell family were members.
Design and art were a major theme in all she did in life. She was a very smart and independent woman who was ahead of her time. She lived a wonderful life and was loved by all who knew her.
