Pat was born in Elizabeth, LA, on April 21, 1935, to James Frazier and Lula Mae Robertson. She was the oldest sibling of sister Beb and brother Wayne. She had vivid memories of living in Elizabeth and kept up with her cousins at many family reunions in East Texas and Louisiana. Her family moved to the Beaumont, TX, area where she attended South Park High School and met the love of her life, Charles Thomas Eagle Jr. They married on Aug 28, 1954, shortly after Pat’s graduation.
Pat and Charles moved to Austin, and then followed Midland, Wichita Falls, Lawrence, KA, Miami, FL, Denton, TX, before finally settling in Plano, TX, in the late 70s. Pat worked many jobs in administrative or secretarial positions until she moved to Plano where she and her friend Jane Littlefield started September Services, a home health care service for the elderly, which they ran together for many years.
After retiring from September Services, Pat became involved in many activities. She participated in neighborhood Bible studies, Bunco games and book clubs. She was a Vice Queen in the Prissy Red Hatters of Plano. She was the “sound technician” for the Senior Classic Follies, an entertainment group which performs at various local venues, including senior living facilities. She helped plan the annual Ms. Texas Senior Classic Pageant, held every fall in Tyler, TX, where she made many friends. The motto of the pageant is “We are Changing the Image of Aging” which could be Pat’s motto as well!
She was always up for trying new things and hosting events. She had a group of friends who would regularly meet for lunch all over the Dallas area to try different cuisines. She loved hosting her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren when they came to visit, which they frequently did. She and Charles were married for 66 years when he passed away in the fall of 2020. Although she missed him greatly, it did not diminish her joy at being with friends and family.
She is survived by four children and their families: Louise Eagle; Tom and Catherine Eagle, Tim and Terri Eagle, Todd and Parmis Eagle; 10 grandchildren: Georganne Taylor and Mike Umphlette, Emily Taylor, Alana Taylor and Abhi Varde, Krysta and Neal Buchanan, James and Emily Eagle; Alexander, Anna, and Harrison Eagle; and Ariana and Adrian Eagle, and 5 great-grandchildren: James and Asher Umphlette; and Ashlynn, Courtney and Raegan Eagle. She is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law Wayne and Carol Robertson of Sour Lake, TX, sister-in-law Evelyn Eagle of North Carolina, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The family will receive friends for a visitation on Friday, September 22, 2023, from 11 a.m.-12 p.m. at Ted Dickey Funeral Home, located at 2128 18th St, Plano, Texas 75074. A Graveside Service will take place at 12 p.m. at the Plano Mutual Cemetery.
