Marion Joyce Davis

Marion “Joyce” Nelson Davis, (1930-2021) passed away on September 26, 2021. She was born August 23, 1930 in San Francisco, California to Wilford L. Nelson and Agnes Miller Nelson. Joyce was the youngest of her siblings that included Bernice Maass, Bill Nelson, Margaret Marchant, Ruth Nelson and Marilyn Williams. Joyce grew up in the Oakland-San Leandro Bay Area and graduated from San Leandro Senior High School in 1948. After high School, Joyce worked for the Federal Bureau of Investigation in the San Francisco Office.

Joyce met Frank M Davis at church in San Leandro in 1949. Joyce and Frank married December 29, 1951 at the Alameda US Naval Air Station. On January 11, 1952 their marriage was sealed at The LDS Salt Lake City Temple. They lived in California, New York and Texas. She and Frank served a mission at The LDS Store House in Carrollton, Texas from 1994-1995. Joyce was very active and involved with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, serving in various roles and capacities. Joyce was a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers.

Joyce is survived by sons Gene Davis; David Davis (Nancy); Robert Davis (Claudette); Doug Davis (April); Daughter Nancy Carey (David); Grandchildren: Stacy Davis; Tommy Davis; Hunter Davis (Katy); Alison Davis; D. Christopher Carey; Alexandra Smale (Jordan); Cassandra Carey; Candice Carey; Nicholas Carey and Honorary Granddaughter McKenzie Patch. Great Grandchildren: Brooklynn Carey, Reagan Carey and Carter Smale. Preceded in death by her Husband Frank M Davis, Daughter Barbara Davis and Son Paul Davis.

The Funeral Service will be on Monday, October 4, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints located at 3401 Los Rios Boulevard, Plano, Texas 75074.
