From an early age, Madeleine believed that we are all supposed to love one another as God intends, and that’s what she expected to happen in life. She looked up to her older sister Margaret and was passionate about caring for and protecting her five younger siblings, wanting the best for them in life.
Though she liked to go places and experience new things, she never wanted to be away from home too long. She liked Disney movies because they had happy endings, and enjoyed watching John Wayne movies with her Dad because they showed that good always prevails over evil in the end.
She valued the many, many special people that God brought into her life over the years who loved and cared for her unconditionally. Growing up, Madeleine was lovingly taught the good news of the gospel by her church family and parents, which she understood and embraced. She learned and practiced how to serve others for God's glory, including mission trips and a full summer serving kids at an after-school ministry in Wilmington.
As an adult, Madeleine worked hard to provide for herself while consistently showing generosity to others. She moved to Springfield, Missouri in 2020 and then to the Dallas, Texas area where she met her loving boyfriend, Evan.
Madeleine is survived by her parents, Paul and Susan Johnson; her siblings Margaret (Colby) Perkins, Helena, Jane, Emma, Andrew, and Audrey Johnson; her paternal grandmother Sally Johnson; uncles Mark, Bruce (Kathleen), Barry (Anita), and Brian Johnson; uncles John (Teresa) and Stephen (Teresa) Plate; aunt Karen Dixon; and many family friends and relatives.
