Kenneth Wayne Garner

He was born on December 5, 1942, in Brownsville, Texas to Kenneth Wayne Garner and Dean Wade. He spent much of his childhood in and around Abilene, Texas, before moving to the Dallas area.

Despite his disability from polio at age three, Ken lived an active and fulfilling life. He was an engineer at LTV/E-Systems. In 1973, he took a leave of absence and started his own business, Kentronix Communications. As the industry changed, he returned to E-Systems where he remained until retirement in 2007.

Ken's hobbies included racing hot rods, shooting skeet and trap, and was an avid ham radio operator since he was 12 years old. He was a 32nd degree Mason and was an active participant with the Shriners. He also volunteered with the Pontiac Club and within his Highland Springs Independent Living community.

Ken is survived by his wife of 15 years, Myra Amerland Garner, his children, Michelle Carter, Christy Garner, Don Garner and wife, Tracey as well as seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

The funeral Mass will be held at Prince of Peace Catholic Community, Plano, TX on May 21 at 11am with internment in San Diego, CA
