Charles is preceded in death by his beloved wife Voncile Wright, his parents Charles and Hallie Wright, his brother William A. Wright, his son David Wright, his grandson Christopher Sicks, his grandson Christopher Cathey, and his second wife Naomi Harbeson Wright.
He is survived by his daughter, Lucinda Cheshier and her husband Jeffrey, sister-in-law Jean Wright, sister-in-law Ann Buckmaster, granddaughter Susan Kamyab and her husband Majid, granddaughter Elizabeth Ward and her husband Michael, granddaughter Kristina Wright Le and her husband Kevin, and grandson Steven Cheshier.
He is further survived by his great-grandchildren, Madison Taylor Cathey, Jax Kamyab, Kaylee Kamyab and Kaden Kamyab and by his Brother’s extended family.
Charles was born January 16, 1927 in Mission, Texas to Charles and Hallie Jefferies Wright.
Charles served in the Army in World War II. After graduating from Baylor University, he returned to Mission and worked with his father and brother on the family farm.
He met the love of his life, Voncile Preston, when she was on a blind date with his brother Bill. He believed his guardian angel led him to Voncile and guided them through their many happy years together.
They moved to the Dallas area in 1962 when he began a long career working for the Social Security Administration.
He was a member of Custer Road Methodist Church of Plano.
Over the course of his life, he had many hobbies and was passionate about each one. The last decade he devoted to genealogy research.
