Audrey Winnell Gaines

She was born January 2, 1916 in Johnson County, Texas, to Henry C. Hudson and Hattie Hutchins Hudson. She married Chester Earl Gaines in Wichita County, Texas in September 1934.

She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and son-in-law, Harold Semple, 6 brothers and a sister.

Winnell and Earl lived for several years in Libya working for Exxon. She was a member of Bellview Baptist of Midland and upon moving to Plano attended Hunters Glen Baptist Church. Winnell worked until she was 89 years old for White Machine Manufacturing of Midland. Winnell was a member of Eastern Star and a life member of the Hudson Family Association a genealogy association. Ninny enjoyed and worked tirelessly in the family genealogy, sewing, working in the yard and sitting on the deck at the lake watching the birds and the fish. She also worked her entire life helping to raise her grand children and great grand children; and had the ability to give children all the love and hugs you would ever ask for. For 60 years she was instrumental in the continuation of a family reunion that continues to this date with 5 generations of family attending each year. The family is deeply saddened and will miss her smile every day.

Surviving her is daughter Patricia Gaines Semple of Plano, grandchildren, Hal Semple and wife Mary of Midland, Ann Hartline and husband Ray and Cheryl Rice of Plano, great grandchildren Patrick Semple and wife Eden of San Angelo, Sarah Semple and fiancée Mikey Young of Midland and Kelli Rice of Plano, and great great grandchildren Jayden and Zachary Semple of San Angelo, and brother Murray Hudson of Hawaii.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, May 12, 2012 at 11am in Resthaven Memorial Park, 4616 N. Big Spring St. Midland, Texas.
