Larry loved music. He collected hundreds of records and albums. He loved baseball, especially when the Mets were playing. He loved his family and had a great sense of humor. He loved to play bingo and he would never allow anyone to take away a good cup of coffee. Larry had a spiritual nature and in his youth, he was an altar boy.

Larry grew up in New York City under the loving care of his parents, Anthony and Jean. Larry proudly worked alongside his father doing electrical and maintenance work in a hospital. Larry fondly spoke often about the many happy vacations he had in upstate Pawling with his Aunt Josie and Uncle Willie.

After the passing of his parents, Larry was welcomed and cared for by his Uncle Joe and Aunt Mary for a number of years. When they were unable to take care of him, the organization FREE then became part of his new family where he thrived and was well cared for. He loved all the staff and made many new friends. Larry also had an opportunity to be with his long-time friend Rocco who was already part of the FREE family. In Larry’s Shirley home, he loved helping out whenever he could. His favorite job was paper shredding. When Larry was ill, anyone willing to listen would know how he couldn’t wait to get back to his job.

To know Larry was really to love him. He had a loving spirit and generous heart. Growing up, Larry was an older cousin who would shoo his younger cousins out the door to go play while he finished all their chores. That says it all.

A funeral mass will occur Wednesday, November 20, 2024 at 11:15 AM at St. Ignatius Loyola Parish, 129 S Broadway, Hicksville, NY 11801. An interment will occur Wednesday, November 20, 2024 at Calvary Cemetery, 49-02 Laurel Hill Blvd, New York, NY 11377.
