He emigrated to NY in 1973 and started working at Randazzo's Clam Bar in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn. He worked his way up and eventually saved enough money to buy himself a cab and become a business owner at Dial Car Company.
Once he was settled in NY, he went back to Greece to find a wife who eventually became Anna Raptis. Shortly after arriving, Angela was born and less than 2 years later Jimmy joined the family. As a family of 4, they moved to Plainview, Long Island in 1987 and always referred to their father as 'Der'; dad for kids who mispronounced it and never got it right.
Living in Plainview since then, Bobby's children married and had 2 boys of their own.
Bobby enjoyed retirement and splitting his time between Preveza, Greece and New York.
Bobby was a very happy, and relaxed person who enjoyed life, his garden, swimming, walking, The Yankees, a good glass of wine and good company. He greeted everyone with a smile and would always lend a helping hand.
Bobby is survived by his wife Anna, his daughter Angela her husband Manny, their son Antonis, his son Demitrios and his wife Christina and their son Lukas Haralambos.
Bobby's passion for life and his family and friends will never be forgotten by everyone that knew him.
