Ord Dean Orr was born on February 11, 1941 in Pueblo, Colorado and went to be with his Lord on April 9, 2018 at home in Camino, California after a sudden heart attack.
Dean grew up on a cattle ranch outside of Pueblo, Colorado. He lived there with his father, mother and two sisters until his father's death when Dean was 16 years old. He and his mother then moved to Pueblo and after graduating from high school he attended Biola University in La Mirada, California where he met his wife, Bonnie. They were married July 25, 1964.
Dean and Bonnie relocated to Camino in 1966 where he worked as a special education teacher for 35 years in the Buckeye School District. He made a great impact on both students and teachers during his long career in education. He and Bonnie raised four children, Amy, Sara, Rachel and Andy.
Dean was active at Gold Country Baptist Church where he preached and taught Sunday school and served those around him. He greatly loved the church and encouraging the leaders.
Dean joyfully labored until the very last moment of his life. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, and his daughter Rebecca. He is survived by Bonnie, his wife of 53 years, and his children, Amy Smith, Sara Garate (Ben), Rachel Lesiw (Bob), and Andy Orr (Megan). He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren.
We miss Dean immensely, but we rejoice that he is now present with Jesus. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2018, 11:00 a.m., at Gold Country Baptist Church, 3800 N. Shingle Road, Shingle Springs, California.
