It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mark, who left us on April 19, 2024. He departed peacefully, leaving behind a life of kindness and cherished memories.
Born on June 10, 1957, Mark touched the lives of many with his humor, compassion, and unwavering spirit. He will be remembered fondly for his boundless generosity, comic spirit, and dedication to making the world a more colorful place. Mark was a graduate of Catalina Island School (CIS) and California State Polytechnic University, Humboldt. Mark loved his CIS family, and they remained his closest friends for nearly 50 years.
Throughout his life, Mark exemplified resilience, facing health challenges with sheer will and determination. He inspired those around him with his unwavering strength and optimism, reminding us all to embrace each day with courage and gratitude.
Mark is preceded in death by his Father, David Lee McIntyre and Mother, Patricia Ann Scott, first cousins, Jimmy McIntyre, Melinda McIntyre-Kolpin and Billy McIntyre. He leaves behind many beloved family members. Brothers: Patrick (Sylvia, Kernan and Liam), John (Karen), David (Mariah, Ella and Sloane). Sisters: Pam (Stephanie), Claudia (Joseph), Alicia (Justin), Mary (Max, Will and Morgan), Anne (Tom, Victoria and Katharine) and Caroline (Darby). First cousins: Tracy McIntyre-Fredricks, Tina Kerner-Gough. All will cherish the moments they shared together. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
In his honor, let us celebrate Mark's life and the impact he had on those around him. Mark’s wishes are that donations be made to the Catalina Island Marine Institute (CIMI). A service will be held on Catalina Island at a future date.
