Lawrence Stephen Hicks

Born on September 4 1961 to Franklin and Roberta Hicks in Placerville, California.He was the third of seven children. He was always known as Lawrence until joining the Air Force in 1980 where he immediately became "Larry, and the name remained the rest of his life.He was honorably discharged in 1989.Larry was a lifelong resident of El Dorado county,and grew up in Shingle Splings. He went to school at El Dorado Adventist Academy in Placerville, and received his GED after entering the Air Force.

Larry loved life and was loved by family and innumerable friends .He was a Lay Pastor at the Shingle Splings Adventist church and was deeply involved in their Pathfinder Scouting organization,spending many weekends at Leoni Meadows Camp.

Larry leaves behind his mother - Roberta, 4 sisters- Lynn (David )Brown, Rene (Wayne )Williams, Miranda (David )Horger ,and Melissa (Monte) Craig,

and 2 brothers - Franklin,Jr (Becky ) and Jeffery (Rashon) Hicks, 5 nieces, 2 nephews, many aunts,uncles, cousins,and many dearly loved friends. He was preceded in death by his father,Franklin Hicks.Sr, and nephew,Michael Hicks.

There will be a Memorial service at El Dorado Adventist Academy (1900 Broadway, Placerville ) on Saturday,June 6th at 3 pm followed by a reception.
