Wayne W. Jelinek

Wayne W. Jelinek, age 91, of Pittsburgh, passed away on Thursday, October 10, 2024. Born October 1, 1933, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late William and Agnes (Kypta) Jelinek. Most important to Wayne was his family, he was passionate about sports, including coaching, basketball being his favorite, he also played in the minor leagues for the Cleveland Indians, he loved music, woodworking and home improvement projects, he could fix anything! He was a veteran of the United States Army, and was a milkman for Turner's Dairy.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Geraldine 'Gerry' Jelinek; together they raised five boys; Wayne (Cyndie), Ron (Liza), Marc, Neal (Susan) and Joe (Rebecca) Jelinek. Also surviving are eleven grandchildren; Wayne (Becca), Nicole, Troy, Daniel, Braedon, Erica, Ryan, Brianna, Tanner, Eden and Nadia (Joey); and five step grandchildren; CJ, Lauren, Caroline, Abby and Marygrace.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother; William Jelinek and a sister in law, Clara Jelinek.

Friends will be received Saturday, October 19, 2024 from 2-4 and 6-8pm at the H.P. Brandt Funeral Home, 1032 Perry Highway, Pittsburgh, PA, 15237. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 20, 2024 at 2pm at Christ Church at Grove Farm, 249 Duff Road, Sewickley, PA 15143. Everyone is asked to please meet at church.
