He was born on June 5, 1926, son to the late George M. Margerum and Wrella (Anderson) Margerum. In addition to his parents, his brothers George Margerum, Jr. and David Margerum preceded him in death.
Richard is survived by his wife Suzanne Broughton and his stepchildren Johanna Broughton Walker and Carolyn Broughton, his brother Gordon (Glenda) Margerum, as well as nieces Jane Campbell, Gail Margerum, Glenda Sally O’Connor, Ann Sawchuck, and Sara Sloan; nephews, Gordon Margerum, Jr. and Mark Margerum
Richard was a graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and was an architect until his retirement. He enjoyed many outdoor activities from hiking, backpacking, canoeing and camping to yard maintenance. He also enjoyed woodworking and refinishing furniture
Arrangements are entrusted to H.P. Brandt Funeral Home.
