John Edward Easley Jr, age 74, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully in the presence of his family on Saturday, August 6, 2022. John was born July 21, 1948 in Pittsburgh, PA to the late John E. Easley and Helen (Henderson) Easley.
If you asked a hundred people who "Jack" was they may tell you a different story. Decorated Vietnam War Veteran serving our country honorably from 1969 to 1975, Devoted Father, Grand-pap, Mr. Fix-It and a Penn State Football Fan. He will be remembered for his integrity, courage and his boundless positive energy never giving up. Jack was a man of exceptional ability, he was always ready to be of assistance to family, friends, neighbors and beyond.
He enjoyed his Thursday breakfasts with his brother-in-law Harry while his cousin Sharon waited on them at the McKnight Road Eat-N-Park, he loved playing cards, fishing, family time and crossword puzzles.
Jack is survived by his loving wife of 25 years Elizabeth "Liz" (Hartman) Easley. He leaves behind his beloved children Jennifer (Tim) Yurkiewicz, J. Christian (Lisa) Easley, Jamie Easley, Julianna Easley, and his grandchildren Cody, Austin, Torie, Alexis, Maddie, Keegan and McKenzie. Jack will be missed by sister Helen "Honey" (Harry) Stokes, sister-in-law Jackie (late Bernard) Easley, many nieces, nephews and friends. Jack was preceded in death by his brother Bernard and his parents.
Friends and family are invited to the H.P. Brandt Funeral Home 1032 Perry Hwy Pittsburgh PA 15237 on Sunday August 14, 2022 from 2PM to 8PM . A Funeral Mass will take place on August 15, 2022 at St. Teresa of Avila Church (Our Lady of Mount Carmel) 1000 Avila Ct. Pittsburgh, PA 15237 at 10:30 AM (Please meet at the funeral home at 9AM) Burial will take place immediately after mass at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies with full military honors.
