Mike was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. He was an extremely hard worker. Mike worked for Cooper T. Smith as a tugboat captain for thirty five years. He was the captain of the JoAnn C on the Mississippi river. Mike was passionate about spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He also enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, and going to the camp with his best friend, "T-Joe".
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of fifty two years, Dolores Leonard Berthelot; three daughters, Mandy Tarasewicz (Barry), Kristin Crochet (Jason), and Mikalyn Albarado (Tommy); five grandchildren, Cameron Klein, Collin Crochet, Peyton Crochet, Tate Albarado, and Tyler Albarado and his three sisters, Evelyn Martinez, Margaret Crochet (Philip III), and Helena Michel.
Preceded in death by his parents, Steve and Verna Berthelot and his two brothers-in-law, Patrick Martinez Sr. and Stephen Michel.
Pallbearers will be: Barry Tarasewicz, Jason Crochet, Tommy Albarado, Cameron Klein, Blake Leonard, and Patrick Martinez Jr. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Joseph "T-Joe" Berthelot, Kyle Caballero, Collin Crochet, and Tate Albarado.
A visitation will be held at Ourso Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 26, 2023 from 9am until Mass of Christian Burial at 12pm at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Sacred Heart Mausoleum in Belle River.
