He was a retired welder and a proud WWII U.S. Army Veteran. His passion for the outdoors and his love for hunting, camping, and fishing were passed on to his boys.
He is survived by four sons, Arthur, Jimmy, Carl, and Reuben (Shuhua); one daughter, Phyllis Beckman (Phil); seven grandchildren, Jerome Blanchard, Sunee Blanchard, Chad Blanchard, Elizabeth Blanchard, Melanie Beckman, Scott Beckman, and Carley Blanchard; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Blanchard; four infant children; parents, Jerville and Sedonia Daigle Blanchard; brothers, Clairville, Alfred, Paul, Shelby, Nolan, Nolbert, and Prosper; sisters, Edley Chedotal, Laura Mabile, and Lucy, Nellie and Olivia Blanchard.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Keith Landry and Cardinal Hospice for their care.
A visitation will be held on Monday, September 25, 2023 at Ourso Funeral Home in Pierre Part from 9:00am until Mass of Christian Burial at 12pm at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in Pierre Part.
