Jerry Paul Moore, resident of Pierre Part, passed away on Thursday, April 13, 2017 at the age of 78. He was born in Crane Hill, Alabama and a retired Unit Supervisor at Gulf State Utilities. For most of Jerry’s adult life he created beauty for those around him in his work as a carpenter. He was gifted with talented hands that would turn raw wood into pieces of art. His genius was evident from his small, decorative pieces to the fine furniture he crafted. All that have his works will cherish them. Just as he created beauty from plain wood, he worked hard to build a stable life for his family though he came from little. Jerry deeply enjoyed the gifts of this earth, especially good food, beautiful art and an energetic jitterbug. His family will honor his life by doing the same – even though there is no dance class that could help them replicate his talent on the dance floor! He is survived by his daughter, Pamela Kivett; sons, Gregory Moore and Timothy Moore; daughters-in-law, Stephanie Moore and Laura Moore; sister, Aline Roach; brothers, Jimmy, John, and Robert Moore; 8 grandchildren, Seth Moore, Jacob Moore, Quinn Moore, Jonah Savoy, Joshua Moore, Reese Moore, Madeline Savoy, and Gabriel Savoy; 2 great grandchildren, Aurora Moore and Finn Moore; and his fiancé, Margie Landry. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eva Mabile Moore and his parents, Jettie Moore and Denise Simoneaux Moore. Visiting will be on Friday, April 21, 2017 at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Church, White Castle from 8 am until Memorial Mass at 11 am. Ourso Funeral Home, Pierre Part in charge of arrangements, www.oursofhPierrePart.com.
