Chuck passed from this life to the next life peacefully at his home on Belle River, with his wife, Mary, by his side on Thursday, March 8, 2018, at approximately 8:00a. A Christian Burial service will be celebrated on Monday, March 19, 2018, at Ourso Funeral Home, in Pierre Part, Louisiana, at 11:00am. Visitation will take place from 9a to 11a. Burial will be private. Chuck was born on March 28, 1941, in Almeda, California, and at the age of six, Chuck moved to Massachusetts where he attended Sharon High School. Chuck was a United States Air Force veteran, and there he discovered his passion for flying. He was an accomplished sailor, just like his father Jack. His other passions included skydiving, kayaking, mountain bike riding, hiking the mountains, and traveling to many countries with his wife, Mary. Chuck developed a passion for RV traveling with Mary, and they experienced visiting many beautiful places throughout the United States. Chuck had an outstanding personality, and a zest for life and adventure. Many that knew him said he should have written a book on all of his life’s experiences. Chuck loved his family; his wife, Mary; and her family deeply. Many of their friends said that Chuck lived the life of 5 people, because so much was packed into it! Even days before he passed, he was looking forward to his next adventure with Mary. Chuck is survived by his wife, Mary Brown Blinn of 32 years, native of Baton Rouge; his brother, William “Corky” Washburn, and his wife, Judie; his sisters, Penny Knudsen, and husband, Kenny; Barbara Lang, and numerous family members; nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews; and many friends from near and far. He was preceded in death by his father, Jack Prebele Blinn of Almeda, CA; mother, J. Winifred Washburne of Stockton, CA. His family would like to thank the first responders from St. Martin Sheriff’s Department, as well as Acadian Ambulance. We would also like to thank the numerous nurses, doctors, and staff who cared for Chuck at Teche Medical Hospital in Morgan City, and Lakeview Hospital, in Covington, as well as Bayou Home Care Nurses, in Prarieville, and Pierre Part, Louisiana. In lieu of flowers, Mary feels Chuck would want you to go to a beautiful place, and skip a rock across the water, and say a prayer for him, and thank God for all of the beautiful places that we all enjoy. Chuck was very fond of the Shriner’s Association, and the St. Jude Children’s Hospital, if you would like to donate to one of these charities, or a charity of your choice. We all loved Chuck, but God loved him best. May he Rest in Peace.
