He adored his family, and gained his greatest joy by serving others, which included volunteering at the Gleaning House Food Bank and hosting Clemson football tailgates.
Larry was born in Beech Springs, South Carolina on May 30, 1937 to the late Toy Joseph and Mary Lee Hicks Edge. He served in the Air Force from January 1956 to December 1959 where he learned his computer skills and was in Information Technology his entire career, primarily working for Singer Corporation (which was acquired by Ryobi and then TTI Corporation).
Mr. Edge is survived by one daughter: Joni Lee Edge of Anderson; one son: Larry "Walt" Walter Edge Jr. (Kristi) of Centerville, Ohio; and one grandson: Noah Edge.
In addition to his parents and wife, Larry was preceded in death by two brothers: Floyd and Ronnie Edge; and one sister: Dolly Whitfield.
A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, December 28, 2023 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Dillard Funeral Home. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 pm until 1:45 pm at Dillard Funeral Home.
